Fire Belly Pulled Pork Pizza
First you’re going to need pizza dough. Make it yourself or use any number of options, I have used tortillas, pita pockets, a thin artisan bread or Panini and of course Boboli. All of Fire Belly sauces are perfect for pizzas. In this recipe we are going to use “Smokin’ Chipotle” as it goes wonderfully with pulled pork. Pulled pork recipe to follow…you could also use a good chorizo cut up in slices or crumbled on like a sausage depending on your chorizo, in place of your pulled pork.
- 1 Large Pizza
- 1 lb cooked pulled pork or chorizo
- 1 pouch Fire Belly “Smokin’ Chipotle”
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, or more if you like cheeeese
- 1 large caramelized onion
- 4 cloves garlic crushed
- ½ cup fresh basil
- ½ cup arugula
- 1 tbsp. coconut oil
- ½ tsp sea salt
Preheat oven to 450 F
Cook time 8-10 minutes
Pour half the pouch of “Smokin’ Chipotle” on your pizza or whole pouch depending on your preference.
Add you’re pulled pork or chorizo sausage.
Top with caramelized onion that you sautéed with 1 Tbsp. coconut oil and crushed garlic ½ tsp. sea salt, add basil and arugula.
Add mozzarella cheese on the top; pour remaining chipotle sauce, if you opted to put it on top also. Place in oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and let set for 5 minutes…enjoy!
